It’s a common theme amongst my readers that I hear the words “gear is great, but it is nothing without knowledge”. I wanted to use those words to inspire my next blog post. So here you go, more knowledge than you could ever hope to acquire.

Below I’ve listed 20 each of my favorite blogs, books, YouTube channels, Facebook Pages and Twitter accounts for you to visit, watch, read and learn from.

One thing to note is that many of these blogs have an accompanying Facebook page and Twitter account, many Facebook pages have a twitter account, many YouTube channels have a website, etc. In order to provide the broadest base of knowledge I did my best to avoid overlap between these. But by all means please check out all avenues of communication each one of these amazing people and sites has to offer.

I hope this provides a great start to you on your prepping journey! Now I’ll shut up because you have some reading, watching and tweeting to do 😉

Disclaimer: These lists are not “ranked” in any sort of order. It is simply a list of my favorite resources so pay no attention to #1 vs #20.

  1. Hey Jake, great list of resources, brother! Humbled to be on the list with so many folks I respect and admire and learn from. You and your blog, my friend, are a great value adding resource to the preparedness community!

The Pathfinder School is my favorite channel. Dave is such a great teacher.

    Keep doing the stuff,
    Todd

    • Thanks so much Todd, you truly deserve to be on there!

The Pathfinder School is absolutely my favorite channel as well. I’ve learned more from him about bushcraft in general in the last 2 months since finding him than I have my entire life. I also think his 10 C’s of survival is a great framework for any king of bug out bag, edc, get home bag, etc.

      Regards,
      Jake

  2. This is great! It’s fun to have a list like this. It saves me a lot of searching and there are some I’ve never heard of. I love finding new perspectives and points of view.

    • Glad to hear it’s useful, that was definitely my intent! I also wrote it for myself as I truly needed one place to organize all of my favorites.

New perspectives are what learning is all about. Especially when it comes to the preparedness game, there is no single “right” way to prepare. Read a lot and find what best resonates with you! There are plenty of amazing teachers out there.

  3. S.H.T.F Scenario directory is new on the block but growing. The directory was created to help folks obtain the know-how, education, and preparations to ready them to become self-sufficient in case of an emergency.

Thanks for the list of the 100+ emergency/preparation sites. I hope to add some to the directory. If someone would like their site to be included in the directory please contact me through the site.

  4. Hey Jake, this is a great list of quality prepper sites. I appreciate you taking the time to construct this. I tend to trust older websites such as most of the ones you’ve selected.
